Ross Park Zoo

We had a very pleasant experience not from the zoo animals but from the elaborate display of Chinese lanterns. The various animated and mythical animal lanterns were well placed along the various animal housings and walkways throughout the zoo. We visited on a nice sunny day and there were plenty of great photos opportunities. I am sure there's a whole different experience and photos opportunities when visiting at night when the lanterns are lit. The cost for night time is $20 versus $6 during the day. We hope the proceeds from the lanterns display would subsidize the overall improvement of the park which is in need of upkeep and maintenance.

We visited on Sunday for my daughter's 5th birthday. We've been here many times before, but it was our first time going thru while the lantern festival was set up. Although it's meant for night viewing, it was still great during the day. All the lantern figures set up were amazing, and the kids loved it. We stopped at the snack bar (the pizza is always to good to pass up) and spent more time than usual wandering through checking everything out. I definitely plan on going back at night to see everything lit up!

We took our grandson and had a wonderful evening walking through the park. Everyone should go see this, it's such a beautiful experience!

After all these years the zoo is still my favorite place to get away to. Very clean and well kept. The staff is as always polite and helpful. Definitely recommend helping out our community and visiting Ross Park zoo.

They have an unusual collection of animals! It's a smaller zoo, but a lovely walk and it was really nice to see creatures you don't usually get to see like the Pallas cats and binturong!
