Gorgeous hiking trails suitable for all fitness level, plenty of camping spots. The Indian ladder trail is beautiful. It's hard to imagine wilderness so close to Albany. The $6 daily entry fee is a bit on the higher side, so plan on coming early and enjoy the area as long as you can.

If you're seeking a beautiful experience in the outdoors, you'll find it at Thacher Park. The Indian Ladder Trail winds along the steep drop offs, taking you under rocky overhangs and through refreshing small waterfalls. Breathtaking views of the Albany valley are visible at every turn and the only sound you'll hear is the whistling of the wind through the trees and your own footsteps.

Beautiful day at Thacher park, my sister and I had our first cookout of the year. There were lots of people there but only a few using grills. Food always tastes better from the grill.

We really loved the parts of the park we went to. It's a huge park and therefore didn't looked crowded. We went to only small picnic areas and they were nice. Beautiful view.
