The zoo is great. It is small, but well done. The rainforest area is a short path in high humidity with a beautiful variety of birds. We loved the penguins! The sea lion exhibit was closed. We loved it. It is a good idea to reserve tickets in advance if you would also like to see the 4D movie. The children's zoo is cute, but you can only feed animals till 2pm and the spiderweb is closed.

I love coming to the Central Park Zoo! It's really such a treat to have this little sanctuary in the middle of the busy city. Being a small zoo, they have a variety of wonderful species such as grizzly bear, snow leopard, red panda, and snow monkeys. The tropical bird house is spectacular and always a fun experience with the birds moving freely. Penguin and seal/sea lion feedings are always a pleasure. Coming to the zoo is just such a quintessential New York experience. We come at least once a year and it is always wonderful and memorable! Don't forget to stop by the gift shop and get something special while supporting the zoo.🐻

Much fun on an extremely hot spring Tuesday. First time visitor. Not many people, so comfortable to take time and enjoy the exhibits. Really enjoyed the flirty seals and the adorable penguins. The zoo entry staff was very helpful & accomodating, making sure we had accessibility. The maintenance staff is EPIC! Shirley was everywhere on her j-o-b and her supervisor Wayne was incredibly kind and grateful for the plug. Definitely a MUST do in NYC.

This zoo is surprisingly large for being in the middle of Central Park. We became members which entitles us to free entry to any of NYC's zoos. On a hot day we always start out with the tropics exhibit. If your lucky you may even get to see Mr. Peacock 🦚 showing his feathers. Be mindful where you stand as there may be a bird overhead. The red panda is always adorable, and if your lucky you may catch a glimpse of one of 2 snow leopards, a critically endangered species that few zoos have. Check out feeding time for the two harbor seals, who listen better than most dogs. 2 young Grizzly bears, the penguins and sea lions round out this zoo great for an afternoon with kids, or the kids at heart.

Really nice use of the space, and the penguin and snow leopards are the highlight. The entrance gate is beautiful and plays metal chimes on the hour so worth it if you can time your arrival or exit around that... However, if like us, your children's expectations are that of the film, just to manage them in advance - there are no lions, zebras, giraffes or hippos...🤣 Our 3 year old kept asking where the lion was... but set in the most beautiful park and well worth a visit. Set aside about 3-4 hrs to get a good amount of time to see the zoo, the children's petting zoo and the park.
