Rosamond Gifford Zoo

We drove 2 hours to come see a new, different zoo. Maybe a handful of animals were “ out of exhibit” due to renovations at the zoo. I didn’t see that but maybe I overlooked it. I did notice on the website that the birds would all be “MIA” due to the the avian flu which was totally understandable. The inside exhibits were nice but again some animals were not in them which was a bummer. The jellyfish lights weren’t even on to see them all in color displays. The aquarium part was small but nice to see! The visit overall was nice, took us about 1.5- 2 hours to get in and go through the zoo. It was nice, very clean. But limited food place options, highly suggest packing snacks for kids. The jungle cafe was closed. We would go again as long as we knew more of the animals were actually there.

The zoo itself is beautiful, the animals look healthy n well taken care of and to top it off the staff members are absolutely fabulous! I lost my car keys at the zoo, my husband n I decided we would try our luck n see if someone turned them in to the staff, unfortunately they hadn't, the woman proceeded to get on her radio and ask for help from ALL of her coworkers. They responded to her almost immediately and we're more than happy to help with the search. When they had no luck,they took my phone number and name and promised to call if they had any luck. I had to leave my vehicle there unattended for 4 days, the staff didn't have me towed , didn't have me ticketed AND called me back on day 4 and had found my keys. They seemed truly invested in helping my family and I can't thank them enough for how they handled the situation! I 10/10 recommended visiting this zoo, you won't regret it!!

Really nice local zoo with a variety of animals including penguins, Asian elephants, and wild cats. A lot of (free) parking available. Great place for children. The cafe isn't open, so there are limited food options on site just a snack bar, however there are benches and you can bring food in. Update, 04/2022: looks like a new cafe will be opening soon! Birds are currently off exhibit.

My company had a managers meeting at the zoo's large conference room. Tables were setup with white table clothes and we had a make your own lunch buffet during our meeting. At the end of our meeting a zookeeper introduced us to Muppet the porcupine. Very cool 😎. After the meeting we all got tickets to enter the zoo and walk around and see the exhibits. It was a fun and beautiful walk around to see all the different animals.

A lovely, quaint little zoo. This takes us about half a day to get through with little kids. Everything is super easily accessible by stroller and the park is well maintained and clean. Enclosures for the animals are well kept. We love this zoo and go often.
