Went on a Sunday, father's day. Was pretty busy but every group gets their own tour guide. I wish I would of known it was going to be cold in the caves, they said the weather doesn't change, and is usually 50 degrees with a cold draft, so take a sweater! Has about 180 stairs throughout, I have knee issues sometimes but I was able to comfortably climb whenever it was necessary. It's about a half mile to the little boat ride and a half mile walk back. I highly recommend it!

Really fun family experience. Well trained staff. Interesting geologic tour. One suggestion is to install mics/speakers at the various stopping points so the entire group can hear. This is in no way a slight to the staff. Our tour guides were speaking loudly but the public, unfortunately would rather chat and not listen, thus making it impossible for much of the group to hear. Other than that it's a really fun experience.

Was very interesting.,and our guide was GREAT!! BUT...there were WAY to many people for them cramped spaces.we were completely crammed into an elevator.and I mean u couldn't move.then it was hard to take pics or really look at anything because of how many people there were.also,I am a type 1 diabetic.i could not bring anything to drink in case my sugar got low.and they don't allow backpacks.i do understand that their rules are to protect the cave, but maybe make an exception,or figure out a different way to accommodate people that need things to be brought w them

Absolutely loved this. The caverns themselves are beautiful and a great walk through and boat ride. The winding way was so much fun with the snaking pathway. The building is gorgeous as well. Highly recommend if you enjoy natural rock formations

I’ve been to Howe Caverns only once—it was back around 1995. I lived on Long Island, and I went with two girls I used to work with at TGI Fridays. I don’t even remember how we decided to visit the caverns because I wasn’t even aware of their existence. We drove up for a day trip. I really enjoyed the tour and the visual treats inside the caverns. I see from the photos that nothing seems to have changed—AND I LOVE THAT. THAT’S HOW IT SHOULD BE, so thank you for that. I would love to return some day and visit again. This attraction is well worth driving to visit.
